Effective July 1, 2024 AB 28 (Stats. 2023, ch. 231) - Firearms and Ammunition: Excise Tax Imposes an excise tax in the amount of 11% of the gross receipts from the retail sale of firearms, firearm precursor parts, and ammunition. The 11% excise tax will be charged in addition to the 7.75% local sales tax.
