Est Value $3500.00 A striking example of traditional Native American silversmithing, this handcrafted sterling silver Naja necklace showcases the artistry and balance of classic Navajo design. Artist Kathleen Livingston signed and entirely handmade, this piece carries the presence, weight, and refinement sought after by discerning collectors. Two strands of oxidized, hand-wrought Navajo pearls form the foundation, each bead individually crafted and exhibiting the soft patina of true bench-made silverwork. Twelve fluted squash blossoms—each shaped, domed, and soldered by hand—frame the necklace with elegant symmetry, emphasizing its traditional form. At the center rests an exceptional multi-stone Naja and variscite cabochons ranging from rich golden-matrix greens to sky-blue stones with deep, webbed veining. Every bezel is hand-fitted and bordered with sterling droplets, demonstrating meticulous craftsmanship. The suspended teardrop dangle at the heart of the Naja adds subtle movement and a ceremonial feel that seasoned collectors will immediately recognize. Weighing approximately 111.3 grams and approximately 25 inches, it wears with the satisfying weight and presence expected of gallery-grade squash blossom–style jewelry.
