#1400 • Mercury and Roosevelt Dimes, 90% Silver
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $30.00
Status: Available
Silver dimes, the coin nobody gets tired of. This lot is listed as Mercury and Roosevelt dimes, 90% silver, and the lead coin backs it up: a Mercury dime with its 1942 date plain on the face. It appears brighter than its holder-mates, with more of the detail left, including feather lines on the wing. The lot includes six coins in cardboard 2x2 holders with plastic windows, each with a date handwritten across the top: 1938, 1942, 1960, 1963, 1963 and 1964. The holder marked 1938 carries a second Mercury dime, with LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST clear. That one appears worn, with flattened high points on the hair and wing and a grey tone. A coin that has been passed around for decades looks like that. The other four holders, marked 1960, 1963, 1963 and 1964, hold what appear to be Roosevelt dimes. A loose coin alongside them looks to be a Roosevelt as well. Two of the most collected dime designs of the last century, in one lot. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
