#1602 • (7) Kennedy Half Dollars – Incl. One 40% Silver Half & Two Bicentennials
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $10.00
Status: Available
Seven Kennedy half dollars in one lot, and one of them is silver. The listing reads: Includes: (1) 40% Silver Half Dollar. The darkest coin here carries what appears to be a 1960s date. Kennedy halves of 1965-1970 were generally struck in 40% silver clad for circulation, so it looks to be the silver piece. It wears dark toning and a light-colored spot on the right side of the obverse, behind the head. Then there's the Bicentennial pair: two halves dual-dated 1776-1976, both with the Independence Hall reverse and 200 YEARS OF FREEDOM. Rounding out the loose coins are a 1974, a 1971 that appears lightly toned, and a 1980. The loose coins show what appear to be marks from circulation. Every coin shows the classic Kennedy portrait obverse, LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST. The seventh coin sits in a stapled white cardboard 2x2-style holder with a clear window and a heraldic eagle reverse. The holder is marked 1972 in ink, and the coin's own date looks to read 1972 as well. The holder carries brown spots along its lower edge and creasing near the top. Six loose, one holdered, seven halves total. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
