#1608 • (8) Buffalo Nickels: Two Carded Coins Plus Six Loose

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $20.00

Status: Available

Eight Buffalo nickels in one lot. Every coin carries the classic design: the Native American head with LIBERTY on the front, the bison standing over UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and FIVE CENTS on the back. Few American coins say 'old money' louder. Two of the eight come carded, each in its own stapled cardboard holder with a handwritten date. The left holder is marked '1936' in ink, and the coin inside appears to read 1936 as well. The other holder has '1927' written on its back. The remaining six are loose. One appears to be dated 1935. Another shows what appears to be a 1930s date, possibly 1936. The set looks to have seen real circulation, with design detail and date areas flattened on most coins. One loose coin shows what appears to be a dark spot near the top rim on its reverse. These are pocket-change survivors with years of honest use on them. Good for a starter album, a Buffalo nickel date hunt, or a gift for the kid who just discovered coins. Includes: (2) Carded Coins. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
