#1612 • Wheat Pennies – Large Lincoln Cent Lot, Horseshoe Encased Cent, 10 Holders

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $50.00

Status: Available

A big, loose pile of Lincoln cents, the kind of lot that rewards a slow evening with a loupe. Many carry the classic wheat-ear reverse, ONE CENT flanked by two stalks of wheat. The pile looks to be roughly 200 or more coins, mostly copper-colored, with several gray, silver-colored cents mixed in that appear consistent in appearance with 1943 zinc-coated steel cents. Then there are the extras. Ten coins sit in cardboard 2x2 flips with clear windows, two printed "COLLECTOR COINS." The flips are marked with handwritten labels, shown as "1943" on several, plus "1955-D," "1943P," "1952s," and what appear to be "1943 S" and "1948S." Most of the coins in those windows appear gray or silver-colored. Also in the lot: a cent set in a silver-colored horseshoe-shaped metal holder with a hanging hole at the top, the old good-luck pocket piece. Its raised lettering appears to read "...NEVER GO BROKE" along the right side. These are circulated coins. Expect wear, uneven toning in brown, red and dark tones, and dark spotting on some pieces, and a few appear to have residue that looks like adhered tape or paper. Sort it, search it, enjoy it. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
