#1616 • (6) Buffalo Nickels 1920-1935, Raw Coins in Hand-Labeled 2x2 Flips
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $25.00
Status: Available
Six Buffalo nickels, dated 1920 to 1935. That's the classic James Earle Fraser-era five-cent piece, the one with the Indian head on the front, and this lot hands you half a dozen of them in one go. Each coin sits raw in its own cardboard 2x2 flip with a clear window. The holders are hand-dated 1935, 1935, 1930, 1929, 1924 and 1920. Two 1935s, so it's a handful from the series rather than a run. Every one shows the right-facing headdress profile with LIBERTY along the upper right edge. The flips are also hand-marked with grade notes running from VG to XF. The windows on the 1930 and 1920 flips are creased. The close-up coin, what appears to be the 1935 marked XF, shows uneven brown and orange toning, scattered marks across the headdress and cheek, and worn high points. The 1930 appears more heavily worn than the rest. Honest circulated nickels with a century of pocket time on them. Good for a type set, a date set, or the kid who just found out coins used to have buffalo on them. Includes: (6) 1920-1935 Buffalo Nickels All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
