#1617 • (6) Buffalo Nickels, 1923-1929 Dates, Indian Head Five Cents Lot

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $20.00

Status: Available

Six Buffalo nickels from the 1920s, each in its own white 2x2-style cardboard holder with a clear window. Every coin shows the Indian Head portrait facing right, with LIBERTY along the rim. The holders are labeled by hand 1923, 1923, 1925, 1925, 1928 and 1929, all within the 1923-1929 span in the title. A previous owner kept notes. Five of the six holders are marked FULL DATE in hand, and each carries a handwritten grade note: FINE on both 1923s, Fine on the 1929, VF on the 1928 and on one 1925, and VG on the other 1925. The portraits appear to show honest wear to the high points. The 1923 coin, shown close up, appears to have small green spots near the headdress and some pinkish areas on the face. Six coins, six holders, one decade of America's favorite nickel design. It's a tidy start on a date run or a solid add to a set already underway. Includes: (6) 1923-1929 Buffalo Nickels All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
