#1701 • Mixed Mexican Coin Lot in 2x2 Holders, Incl. 1942 1 Centavo

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $5.00

Status: Available

A lot of mixed Mexican currency for the collector who likes to sort, sleeve and squint. Leading the group is a 1942 1 centavo with a big '1¢' at center, framed by wreath branches on both sides. Below the wreath sits a small mark that appears to be an 'M' mint mark. The surfaces show what appears to be dark and greenish toning. Every coin rides in its own cardboard 2x2 flip, stapled shut, with a clear window so you can see what you're getting. Most of the coins look to be brown, copper or brass in color. One stands apart: a silver-colored coin showing what appears to be an eagle design. Another dark coin in the top row appears to carry the same large '1¢'-style design as the 1942. One coin appears to show the legend 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS' around an eagle, and at least one orange-brown coin shows what appears to be a faint eagle with worn legends. The sizes appear to vary, so this looks to be more than one type of coin. A ready-made starter group for a Mexico tray, or a fun lot to research one flip at a time. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
