A starter world-coin lot with a little of everywhere. It includes 14 coins in stapled cardboard 2x2 holders, each annotated in ink by an earlier collector. Holders are marked France, Germany, Netherlands Antilles, Iran, East Africa and Sweden. The French pair leads. One holder is marked 'France 1954 100 Franc', and the coin shows a female bust with a torch and the legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. Its neighbour is marked '10 Franc' and holds a brass-colored coin with a female head and REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE. A 'Neth. Antilles 1963 Cent' holder shows a copper-colored coin with 1 CENT inside a wreath. A holder marked 'Pahlavi', '20 Rials' and 'Iran' holds a silver-colored coin with a left-facing male portrait and a Persian legend. The Persian numerals below the bust appear to read 1354. The German row has some history in it. There are holders marked 'Germany 1772 1 Mark' and 'Germany 1939 5 Marks'. The 5 Marks is a large, silver-colored coin in a plastic flip inside its holder. A gray coin's holder is marked 'Dortmund 1917 10 PFG', with 'Zinc' and 'War money' noted on it. An 'East Africa 1942 1 cent' holder is marked 'George' with what appears to be VI, and the coin has a center hole. Sweden contributes three: holders marked '25 ORE 1877', '10 ORE 1949' and '1 ORE 1960'. Iran adds three more, marked '2 Rials', '1 Rial' and 'IRAN'. The holders show age toning, and several have gone yellow or tan. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
