Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $30.00

A world tour in one lot. This is a loose, mixed group of foreign coins in copper, silver-colored, brass-colored and two-tone bimetallic finishes, in every size. It appears to run to roughly 150 coins. Britain and the Commonwealth are well represented. One coin bearing a portrait of Elizabeth II sits in its own square clear holder. There is a HALF PENNY with seated Britannia and a coin marked ONE POUND. A seven-sided coin with a crowned portrait looks to be a UK 20 pence, and a large dark copper coin with a veiled, crowned bust appears to be a Victoria "old head" penny. EIRE harp coins join them. From Canada, a two-tone coin marked ELIZABETH II D G REGINA, with a date that appears to read 2001, looks to be a $2 coin. Small copper maple-leaf coins appear to be Canadian cents. Then it gets interesting. There are coins marked UNITED ARAB EMIRATES with Arabic text, and a coin from the Socijalistička Federativna Republika Jugoslavija. You also get an L.50 with a figure at an anvil and a square silver-colored coin with a floral design. Other pieces include what appears to be a Greek ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ 5 and an eagle coin dated 1980 that looks to be a German mark. A 1 FRANC sower, a holed chrysanthemum coin that appears Japanese, and a two-tone REPUBLICA ARGENTINA piece follow. There is also what appears to be a Korean 100 won. Finally, a large silver-colored coin carries characters read as 光緒元寶, of the Guangxu Yuanbao type. The coins look to be circulated, with toning and darkened copper. Sorters, collectors and anyone with a globe will be busy for a while. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
