#1707 • Mixed Foreign Currency Lot: French, Jamaican, Canadian Coins & More

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $10.00

Status: Available

A world tour in a stack of 2x2s. This lot of mixed foreign currency is listed as including French coins, Jamaican coins, Canadian coins, and more. The lead photo lays out eleven coins, each in its own white cardboard holder with a clear window, stapled shut. The standouts: a copper-colored coin with what appears to be a right-facing portrait and a legend that looks to read "NATIONAL HERO." That design looks to be consistent with Jamaican coinage honoring the national heroes. Another copper-colored coin shows what appears to be a coat of arms, a shield with two supporting figures and a crest above, which looks to be consistent with the Jamaican arms. One coin carries a big numeral 10. Another shows what appears to be a partial "...BLIK" legend over a plant or leaf design. The mix is the fun part. Several coins show portrait heads, and the sizes vary from holder to holder. The colors look to run from brass and gold tones to copper-red, gray-silver and brown. The holders show pencil marks, scuffs and light surface marks, and some windows are wrinkled. For the collector, the kid with a new album, or anyone who likes sorting a pile of foreign change into a story. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
