#1708 • 1972 Cook Islands $1 Coin
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $10.00
Status: Available
A 1972 Cook Islands $1 coin. The side shown carries a bold central carved figure: large head, hands across the body, standing on a horizontal base line. It is a striking design, and it reads clearly. The denomination '$1' appears twice, once on each side of the figure. A ring of small five-pointed stars runs around the rim, with a single star centered below the base line. The initials 'JB' sit just above the base line to the right of the figure. The edge is reeded, and the coin is silver-gray in color. Fine parallel lines run diagonally across the fields of the side shown. There are dark specks on the edge reeding and small dark marks near the rim. Look closely and judge for yourself. A South Pacific piece with real character, and an easy one to add to a world coin tray. The lot appears to be a single coin. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
