#1711 • Malaysian Ringgits – Bank Negara Malaysia RM 1 Banknotes Shown

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $10.00

Status: Available

Malaysian Ringgits, straight from the estate. The lead photo lays out five Bank Negara Malaysia 1 ringgit notes, each printed with 'BANK NEGARA MALAYSIA', 'RM 1', 'SATU RINGGIT' and a big '1' up top right. Paper money from the other side of the world, ready for an album or a frame. The fronts carry plenty to look at. There's a signature over the word 'GABENOR', and it appears to read 'Zeti Aziz'. Zeti Akhtar Aziz was Governor of Bank Negara Malaysia from 2000 to 2016. The portrait shows a man in a headdress with a star emblem, which appears to be Tuanku Abdul Rahman, the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Look for the four lines of 'WANG KERTAS INI SAH DIPERLAKUKAN DENGAN NILAI' beside the portrait, the vertical 'BNM' panel next to it, and the small diamond outline printed at the left end. These look to be honest circulated notes. They show what appear to be fold lines, light soiling or toning, and soft edges. One note has a strong bend and is curled at one end. They are notes that got used. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
