Status: Available
Five So-Called Half Dollar tokens in a printed board titled 'SO-CALLED HALF DOLLARS.' The back reads 'No. 349-Y Wayte Raymond Pubns., A. W. Faxon, Distributor, Mineola, N.Y. Made in U.S.A.' Eight labeled openings, five filled. Includes: (5) Tokens. Lead act: Lucky Lindy. A portrait bust with 'CAPT. CHARLES A. LINDBERGH,' 'FIRST NON STOP FLIGHT NEW YORK TO PARIS,' 'MAY 20,' 'MAY 21,' '1927.' Flip it and it reads 'LUCKY LINDBERGH COIN' and 'THE SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS,' with an airplane, four-leaf clover, horseshoe and shield. Next to it, the Minute Man: 'WHAT A GLORIOUS MORNING FOR AMERICA,' 'BIRTHPLACE OF AMERICAN LIBERTY,' 'LEXINGTON,' 'APRIL 19 1775,' '1775 1925.' Its reverse: '150TH ANNIVERSARY OF BATTLE OF LEXINGTON APRIL 19 1925.' The Pony Express Diamond Jubilee piece from the 'OREGON TRAIL MEMORIAL ASS'N' shows a horse and rider at full gallop, dated '1860 1935'; the reverse appears to show a relay scene at a log building, marked 'CHANGING PONIES' and 'RELAY STATION.' The Byrd piece's reverse reads 'TO COMMEMORATE THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE BYRD ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION 1928-1930' below an airplane, with what appears to be a uniformed portrait on the front. The fifth token appears to show a standing figure holding a long gun, dated '1775 1925.' Three openings are still waiting: 'Thomas Edison Centennial 1947,' 'Confederate Half Dol. - Replica' and 'Confederate Seal - Replica.' Room to finish the board. The card looks to be punched for a binder and shows what appears to be light soiling and wear. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
