Christian Dior on the table. This lot brings Dior china with a crisp white center framed by a swirled green and black malachite-style band, a look that reads as stone even from across the room. The same band runs around every piece pictured, cup included. The plate shown face-up adds gold to the mix: a gold outer edge and a second gold band inside the rim, broken at intervals by small ribbed gold ties. Turn it over and the printed oval backstamp reads Christian Dior, FINE CHINA, with the pattern named beneath as GAUDRON® MALACHITE. A small paper label on that same plate is marked MADE IN JAPAN. That unwrapped plate looks to be free of visible chips or cracks on its face and back. Pieces pictured include a large plate, a smaller plate, a rimmed bowl, a saucer, and a cup with what appears to be a gold-colored handle, each in a clear plastic sleeve.
