#1622 • WWII Coin Sets: 1943 Steel Penny Collection & Pearl Harbor Coin/Stamp Set
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $25.00
Status: Available
Two World War II sets and a loose coin in one lot. The headliner is a Pearl Harbor Commemorative Coin & Stamp Collection: four coins and a stamp on a single card, labeled as a 1941 penny, nickel, dime and quarter. The dime is a Mercury dime, winged Liberty on the front, fasces on the back. The quarter appears to be a Washington quarter with a date reading 1941. Alongside are what looks to be a Jefferson nickel and a brown-toned Lincoln cent. Rounding it out is a blue 3-cent U.S. Navy stamp showing sailors. The back of the card carries a printed certificate statement from The American Historic Society. Set two is the Complete 1943 Steel Penny Mint Mark Collection. Three Lincoln cents sit over printed P, D and S tabs, wheat-ear reverses showing out the back. Each appears to show a 1943 date, and they look to be silver-gray, the left one shinier than its neighbors. The back of this card carries its own printed certificate statement. The third piece is a loose coin, what appears to be a Jefferson nickel with gray toning, cataloged as a 1943 silver war nickel. Both holders are clear, so the coins show front and back. A tidy little home-front lot for a collector or a history-minded gift. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
