#1625 • The Way They Were Coin Set – 5 Coins incl. 1961 Franklin Half Dollar

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $30.00

Status: Available

Five classic American coin designs in one folder. The Way They Were Coin Collection puts an Indian Head Penny, a Buffalo Nickel, a Mercury Silver Dime, a Washington Silver Quarter and a Franklin Silver Half Dollar side by side. That is the line-up printed on the card, with each coin's run of years: 1859-1909, 1913-1938, 1916-1945, 1932-1964 and 1948-1963. The Franklin half is dated 1961. Liberty Bell on the back, Ben Franklin on the front, and a design that has been retired for decades. All five coins sit obverse up, portraits facing out, mounted in a coin card behind a clear sleeve. The set comes in a black bifold folder. The left panel is a printed information card with photographs, marked ©2003 First Commemorative Mint, Inc. The card states that "Each coin was struck by the U.S. Mint." The right panel holds the coins. A tidy display piece, a starter set for a young collector, or a gift for anyone who remembers spending these. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
