Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $30.00

Status: Available

A world tour in a stack. Leading the pictured notes: two Bank of England five-pound notes. One shows Queen Elizabeth II with a chariot vignette and the Chief Cashier signature G. M. Gill. The other shows its reverse, with George Stephenson, a locomotive scene and a 1990 copyright line. Canada brings a Dominion of Canada 25 cents note from Ottawa, the fractional issue collectors call a shinplaster, plus what appears to be a polymer $20 with a Queen Elizabeth II portrait and a clear window. Mexico shows up in force. Two Banco de México 10,000 peso notes carry a portrait captioned Cardenas. The one shown close-up is marked SERIE JJ, with what appears to be a Mexico D.F. date in July 1985. There is a purple 100 peso note, a 200 peso note with two portraits, and what appear to be five 20 peso notes in a couple of designs. Further afield: two Reserve Bank of India 500 rupee notes with Gandhi, a People's Bank of China 10 yuan with Mao Zedong, and what appears to be an Egyptian 1 pound note with a mosque vignette. These notes have been used. Folds, creases and edge wear show throughout, and several of the Mexican 20 peso notes are heavily crumpled. Good for a collector starting out, a traveler's keepsake box, or anyone who likes holding money from places they have not been yet. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
