#2876 • JSP Gold Testing Stone, Camo Survival Machete & Chinese Character Faces
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $10.00
Status: Available
Three items, three directions, one lot. A JSP gold testing stone, a camo survival machete, and a boxed set of Chinese decorative character faces. Something for the bench, something for the trail, something for the shelf. The machete has a gray, white and black camouflage finish on the blade and a row of round through-holes toward the tip. There appear to be serrations or teeth on the spine near the tip. The handle is wrapped in light-colored cord that ends in a loop at the butt. The camo finish shows what looks to be wear or loss in places, including lighter areas near the edge. The testing stone is a flat black stone set in a wooden frame with a small metal pin at each end. Its surface carries white and yellowish streak marks and scratches, and the frame edges show orange-brown stains. The stone appears to be housed in a light-colored wooden box with "JSP" and a knot-style logo on the lid. The marking looks to be laser-engraved or burned into the wood, and the lid has a darkened, burn-like ring around the logo. Then the faces: five miniature painted faces in bold red, yellow, black and white, in what appears to be a style resembling Chinese opera face makeup. They sit against a red interior in a small box covered in green patterned fabric, with a small tab above each face. The box has a torn corner on the front right.
