#1597 • (8) Kennedy Half Dollars - 40% Silver - Weight: 92g
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $50.00
Status: Available
Eight Kennedy half dollars in one lot, listed as 40% silver, with a stated weight of 92g. Every coin carries the classic design: Kennedy's left-facing bust with LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST on the obverse, and the heraldic eagle with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR on the reverse. The dates appear to read 1966, 1967 and 1968: what looks to be four 1967s, three 1968s and one 1966. Two of the coins read as 1968 show what appears to be a D mint mark just above the date. Those dates appear to fall within the years Kennedy halves were struck in 40% silver for circulation, which squares with the listing. The 92g figure also looks to be in line with eight coins at the standard 11.5 g each. That is total coin weight, not silver content. These halves have been around. The toning is uneven: tan and golden on most of the group, and dark mottled gray-brown on the two left coins of the top row. One coin has dark spotting across the obverse field and portrait, including greenish specks. Another has dark spots on the reverse near the eagle. The coins appear to show wear and contact marks on the high points and fields. Eight Kennedys, one lot, one bid. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
