#1601 • (81) Kennedy Half Dollars - Mixed Years, Incl. Bicentennial 1776-1976
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $45.00
Status: Available
Eighty-one Kennedy half dollars, mixed years, in one lot. Enough JFK to start a set, fill the holes in one, or just enjoy the heft of a pile of halves. The Bicentennial issues are here. Several coins carry the 1776-1976 dual date, and some show the Independence Hall reverse. Others wear the classic heraldic eagle reverse with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA around the rim. Legible dates include 1971, 1972 and 1977, and one appears to carry a 1990s date. On the front, the familiar Kennedy profile with LIBERTY around the rim and IN GOD WE TRUST below. These look to be circulated coins, with the dulled surfaces and softened high points of halves that did their job. Some show golden, brownish or darker gray toning, and one has a dark spot on the cheek and jaw of the portrait. Plenty here for a sorter with a loupe and a free afternoon.
