#1717 • Mixed Foreign Coin Lot: Canada, Mexico, Austria and More
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $10.00
Status: Available
A loose pile of world coins, and the kind you want to dump on the table and sort. Canada, Mexico and Austria are all here. There's a 1963 Canadian 1 cent with the maple leaf, a Canadian 10 cents with the schooner, and a Mexican bimetallic $1 dated 2019, backed by at least two more Mexican bimetallic coins showing the eagle and 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS'. Austria shows up with a 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' coin carrying a rider on a rearing horse, pre-euro Austrian coinage consistent with a 5 schilling. There's a '10 NEW PENCE' with a crowned lion, and what appears to be a 'TWENTY PENCE' with a crowned rose, dated 1982. Elizabeth II turns up more than once: a seven-sided coin that appears to be dated 1978, consistent with a UK 50 pence, and a large one that appears to be dated 1980. Also in the mix: what looks to be a Hong Kong 10 cents dated 1982, what appears to be a 'BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND' coin with an oak sprig, what appear to be Canadian beaver 5 cents and a caribou 25 cents, and a small square-holed coin in what appears to be the East Asian cash-coin style. In all, what looks to be roughly 75-85 coins and coin-like pieces, many of them appearing to be Canadian maple leaf cents. Several show spotting, toning, corrosion or surface wear. This is an estate pile, not a cabinet. Wildcards include a heavily corroded copper-colored coin with a date that appears to begin '188', and a gray looped piece that appears to be a medal, token or pendant. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
