Marilyn Monroe, in relief. This collectable token carries her name, MARILYN MONROE, arched along the upper rim, with 1926 at the left and 1962 at the right. Those look to be the years of her birth and death, struck as a tribute rather than a date of issue. The center belongs to a raised nude female figure. She kneels, one arm swept up over her head, long wavy hair falling loose. The piece shows what appears to be a gold/copper-colored finish. The design side looks to have reflective, mirror-like fields that set the figure off. The other side appears plain apart from a raised border line. It has been handled. Scratches and hairlines appear on the design side, across both the fields and the figure. The plain side shows what appears to be reddish-brown spotting, streaky discoloration and fine scratches. It sits in a clear round plastic capsule. One token, one icon. A tidy addition for the Monroe shelf or the Hollywood display case.
