#1770 • Mixed Tokens Lot: OPA Point Tokens, Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition Medal
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $20.00
Status: Available
A drawer's worth of American odds and ends, and the kind of mixed token lot collectors dig through for fun. Red and blue round tokens marked OPA RED POINT 1 and OPA BLUE POINT 1 lead the way. They appear to be WWII-era ration tokens from the Office of Price Administration. Alongside them is a bronze-colored medal reading Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition, with figures on its face and a small hole near the rim. That exposition is generally known to have been held in Seattle in 1909. Then the fun part. Gold-colored Spa Hotel & Casino One Dollar gaming tokens from Palm Springs, California. A gold-colored Lucky Sweepstakes Coin with an eagle and a $100,000.00 promise. A silver-colored Michigan States of the Union token with a state map. A gray Webster-Chicago Corporation piece with a center hole and notched edges. An elongated copper Silver Dollar City piece, with what look to be more pressed coins in the mix. Brass-colored tokens with an S-shaped cut-out round it out. There is more. What appears to be 13 pieces sit in cardboard 2x2 holders, and the handwritten notes on several holders appear to read 'Gen. Geo. A. Custer', 'Dakota Territory', 'Niagara Falls Canada Trade Dollar 1984', 'Georgia U.S. The Fourth State' and 'Employees of U.S. Mint Penn. Bicentennial 1787-1987'. Look also for what appears to be a large Marine Corps medallion, a silver-colored horse-and-rider medallion, a California State Fair and Exposition 100th Anniversary token, a Good For One City Fare transit token, and a capsuled piece that appears to read Excalibur. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
