#1897 • (20) USA Star Cluster IC 348 Stamps, Five Blocks of Four, 31.40

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $40.00

Status: Available

Twenty stamps, one deep-space subject: Star Cluster IC 348. Every stamp carries the same pink, magenta and purple nebula image, the 'Star Cluster IC 348' caption, 'USA' stacked vertically, and the denomination 31.40, preceded by what appears to be a dollar sign. They come as five separate blocks of four, each laid out 2 x 2. Plate number B1111 is printed in the selvage above and below the blocks shown in close-up, with the digits in different colors. A 'B' plate-style number appears above and below each of the five blocks. The stamps appear to be self-adhesive, with wavy serpentine die-cut edges set on white backing paper. They appear unused, with no cancellation or postmark visible on the faces shown. Five matching blocks of a striking space design make a tidy group for the topical collector, the plate-block hunter, or anyone who likes their mail a little more cosmic. Approx Value: $628 All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
