Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $15.00

Barbershop history in a single lot. The group photos show twelve individually bagged razor blade packs, each with its own brand, its own artwork and its own sales pitch. Laymon's promises you'll "Shave and Smile" under a grinning face. Knockout puts a boxing ring on the front and reads "British Razor Blade, Made in Sheffield, Eng." Twenty Grand runs a racehorse and jockey across its double edge blades pack. The roster: Beau Brummel Single Edge Blades, GEM Double Life Blade (Made in U.S.A.), Bill's from Columbia Razor Blade Co. of Los Angeles, Calif., Knockout, Laymon's, Famos, Take Off Double Edge Blades, Gay Double Edge Blades with a laurel graphic, Safety-Ette, Don Juan with its illustrated figure, Twenty Grand, and Enders Speed Blades with a script signature and trademark line. The GEM pack shares its bag with what appears to be a black sleeve marked "by Eversharp-Schick" and small white slips with handwriting. Each pack sits in its own clear zip-top bag. The packs look to be printed paper and card wrappers, and some appear to show edge wear, scuffing or discoloration, which is honest character on graphics this good. A ready-made display for the shaving collector, or a start on one. Includes: Vintage Collectable Razor Blades All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied.
