#1635 • (3) Barber Nickels 1892-1906, Each in Its Own 2x2 Holder
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $5.00
Status: Available
Three Barber nickels spanning 1892 to 1906, one coin to a 2x2 holder. The left coin reads plainly: 1906, struck below the bust. The other two holders are inked 1897 and 1892, and every holder is marked 5¢. All three show what appears to be the Liberty Head 'V' nickel obverse: a left-facing Liberty wearing a coronet, with stars around the rim. The 1906 shows what appears to be heavy wear. The hair is mostly flat and the coronet lettering is not legible, but the stars and the date still stand out. The 1897 looks to be heavily worn at the rim and date. The 1892 appears darker, with a mottled, spotted surface and heavy wear. Each holder also carries a handwritten letter note: G on the 1906, P on the 1897 and AG on the 1892. That makes a tidy start on a date run, or three more holes filled in an album. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
