#1636 • (9) Jefferson Nickels 1973-2024, Each in Its Own 2x2 Holder
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
Starting at $5.00
Status: Available
Jefferson nickels from 1973 to 2024, all in one lot. Nine coins, each in its own 2x2 holder with a circular window, each hand-labeled with date and mint. It works as a starter set for a new collector, or a quick way to fill holes in an album. The newest one leads. A 2024-D shows its date and D mint mark below the date, with the forward-facing Jefferson portrait, IN GOD WE TRUST along the rim, and Liberty in script. Beside it is a 2023 with the same portrait and what appears to be a D mint mark. That coin looks to have a reddish tint. Two reverses, which appear to belong to this pair, show Monticello with E PLURIBUS UNUM, FIVE CENTS and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. The rest run back through the decades. By their handwritten labels they are 2004P, 2000D, a pair of 1986D, 1983P and 1973D, plus one holder marked 1975 PROOF. These coins appear to show the classic left-facing profile portrait. One of the 1986D coins appears to have a dark spot near the portrait. Nickels of this era are generally struck in a copper-nickel alloy of 75% copper and 25% nickel. Includes: (9) 1973-2024 Jefferson Nickels. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
