Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $35.00

Status: Available

Nine Lincoln wheat cents, each in its own white cardboard 2x2-style flip with a clear window. Every holder carries a handwritten date and denomination, and a handwritten note naming a mint error. The dates on the holders run from 1941 to 1958: 1941, 1946, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1953, and three from 1958, which looks to be the final year of the wheat-ear reverse. The labels read like a tour of the error catalog. "1941 1¢ Alloy Error." "1946 1¢ Broadstruck." "1949 1¢ D." with what appears to read "Misaligned Die." "1951 D 1¢ DDO." "1952 S 1¢ Die CHIP." "1953 S 1¢ Struck thru Grease Rev." From 1958 there are three: "1958 1¢ Lamination," "1958 D. 1¢ Alloy/OCS," and "1958 D 1¢ Alloy Error." Lincoln faces right in every window, and the wheat-ears reverse is there. The 1941 shows IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY and its date plainly. The coins appear to carry brown to copper-brown toning. The error names come from the handwritten holder notes, so bring a loupe and make your own call. Nine coins, nine stories, one lot. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
