#1749 • (2) Copper Rounds: Peace Dollar and Buffalo Nickel Designs

Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)

High bid $15.00

Status: Available

Two classic American designs, struck in copper. One round carries the Peace dollar look: Liberty facing left under her radiate crown, LIBERTY across the top, IN GOD WE TRVST through the field, and 1921 at the bottom. Flip it and there's the perched eagle with rays, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, E PLURIBUS UNUM, PEACE, and CENTENNIAL along the bottom rim. The 1921 appears to be part of the reproduced design, and CENTENNIAL marks it as what appears to be a modern commemorative-style round. The obverse appears to show darker and reddish areas in the field, consistent with toning. The second round wears the Buffalo nickel design: Native American profile facing right, LIBERTY along the right rim. The reverse has the bison, stamped ONE AVDP OUNCE and .999 FINE COPPER. It appears even in color, with no obvious spotting. Both look to be privately made bullion-style rounds, not U.S. Mint coins. Each sits in its own white cardboard 2x2-style holder. Two iconic designs for one bid, a tidy add to a copper stack or a design collection. Listing: (2) 1oz Copper Rounds, .999 Copper. Weight: 2ozt. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
