Two blue-seal one-dollar Silver Certificates, one lot. One is Series 1957, the other Series 1957 B. Both faces carry the SILVER CERTIFICATE banner, a blue Treasury seal, blue serial [removed], and the promise every collector likes to read: 'IN SILVER PAYABLE TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND.' The legal tender line is there too: 'THIS CERTIFICATE IS LEGAL TENDER FOR ALL DEBTS, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE.' The signatures on the Series 1957 note appear to read Ivy Baker Priest, Treasurer, and Robert B. Anderson, Secretary of the Treasury. The Series 1957 B note appears to carry Kathryn O'Hay Granahan and C. Douglas Dillon. Each face shows its plate position letter and check number, and each back its plate number. Turn them over and the backs are classic green: the pyramid and the eagle of the Great Seal, with 'IN GOD WE TRUST' printed above 'ONE.' Both look to be circulated notes, with what appears to be soft paper, creases and edge wear. The 1957 B appears to show more toning and soiling than its partner, mostly along the edges.
