#1588 • (4) 1965-1967 Kennedy Half Dollars, 40% Silver, One Gold-Colored 1965
Part of October Multi-Estate Auction (timed auction by Bid Fast and Last)
High bid $30.00
Status: Available
Four Kennedy half dollars, three years of them. The dates read 1967, 1966, 1966 and 1965: the full 1965-1967 run, with 1966 turning up twice for good measure. Every coin carries the Kennedy profile with LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST on the front. The back shows the heraldic eagle with UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR. The 1965 is the one that stops you. It is gold-colored on both sides and stands out against three silver-colored companions. The listing describes the coins as 40% silver. Up close, the 1967 shows what appears to be light toning and fine lines in the field to the right of the portrait. The silver-colored coins look to have light toning and wear on the high points, and one of them appears duller and more toned than the rest. What appears to be a small dark spot sits near the rim on one silver-colored reverse. The gold-colored 1965 shows what appear to be small dark specks on the eagle. A tidy little group for a Kennedy album, a stocking, or anyone who likes their pocket change with some history behind it. Listing lines: 40% Silver. Weight: 45.5g. All lots sell as-is, where-is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Preview in person before bidding.
